During my role as an international analyst, I had the honor and privilege of participating in the 2025 BRICS Municipal International Forum (IMBRICS), held from October 29 to 31 in the city of Saint Petersburg, Russia. This important event brought together leaders from various municipalities in over one hundred countries, as well as representatives from diverse multinational companies, creating a unique space for constructive dialogue and international cooperation.

The Path Toward Unity of Peoples

Throughout the forum, I reaffirmed my commitment to the conviction that true progress and social advancement can only be achieved through the unity of peoples. Collaboration between municipalities, combined with the private sector, represents the most effective way to build more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous societies. The primary goal is to open opportunities and improve the quality of life for our citizens, regardless of where in the world they are. In this context, the BRICS countries bloc presents itself as an organization with immense capabilities and resources that can serve as a catalyst to achieve these goals, especially for Western countries seeking new and beneficial alliances in an increasingly interconnected world.

A Multipolar and Sovereign World

In an era marked by dynamic and constant global interaction, it is essential to defend a multipolar world that respects the self-determination of peoples and the independence of each nation. International integration should be based on mutual respect for diverse cultures, traditions, and values, promoting solidarity and brotherhood among peoples. BRICS’s proposal moves in that direction, fostering a cooperation scheme that prioritizes sovereignty and shared sovereignty among nations, with a particular emphasis on the implementation of secure, efficient, and multimodal maritime logistics routes that facilitate international trade, the movement of goods, and global connectivity.

Technological Innovation as a Driver of Development

One of the central topics addressed at the forum was the incorporation of intelligent and sustainable technologies to improve social coexistence and preserve our environment. The importance of establishing strategic links with technology companies was highlighted, as they can significantly contribute to economic growth through job creation and training of local communities in the use of these advanced technologies. Education and training play a fundamental role in this process, empowering individuals and preparing them to face the challenges of the digital future and fostering inclusive and equitable development. In this sense, innovation and technology cease to be just tools and become vehicles for social and economic transformation.

Agreements, Opportunities for Cooperation, and New Markets

These forums represent an important step in consolidating regional cooperation and creating strategic networks that benefit local and global communities. During the working sessions, topics related to BRICS Pay were also discussed—an initiative that aims to develop a decentralized payment system, more respectful of the financial systems of different countries, based on principles of International Law and multilateral treaties. Such mechanisms offer a robust alternative to traditional structures and promote a more inclusive and secure economy.

Additionally, I had fruitful meetings with Russian entrepreneurs at the expo fair, exploring opportunities to establish trade alliances and joint projects that could benefit our local economies. International collaboration in this area is essential to guarantee sustainable development, reduce inequalities, and create new job opportunities in our countries.

Gratitude and Commitment

I want to sincerely thank the Russian people and administration who welcomed us with exceptional hospitality and warmth, cared for us, and made us feel at home—this was fundamental to the success of this event. The openness and receptivity of the hosts facilitated an environment conducive to mutual enrichment and the building of lasting alliances.

Our commitment remains firm in building a better world, where cooperation, understanding, and solidarity are the foundations of our international relations. I am convinced that through joint efforts and political will, we can create a fairer, more sustainable, and prosperous global environment for everyone. The vision of a future where international collaboration and mutual respect prevail inspires us to continue working tirelessly for a more inclusive and balanced world.
